New year, new ultra trail
Ultra Trail is a perfect metaphor of our life. The old year, just like an ultra trail race, ended.
We experienced the thrill of departure amidst lights and applause.
We met fellow travelers, some for a few moments, others accompanied us for longer.
We suffered uphill and rejoiced while enjoying wonderful views.
We launched ourselves downhill, and we felt like we were invincible and that we had the world in our grasp.
We found comfort in an unfamiliar smile as we rested for a few moments at a refreshment point.
We ran in the dark of night and felt alone.
We ran under the sun, drinking the now warm water from our canteen.
We were afraid we wouldn't make it.
We cried and made friends with our pain.
Now the finish line is right in front of us.
It doesn't matter how long it took you.
It doesn't matter what your ranking is.
What really matters is that you gave your best.
Just beyond the finish line, you can see the smiles of those waiting for you, you can hear their voices encouraging you, you can feel the warmth of the embrace of those who have suffered with you.
The Ultra Trail is over.
As far as I'm concerned, you win .
Now celebrate and rest.
A new Ultra Trail has already begun, it's time to start again.
I wish you climbs on which you can suffer
Views that take your breath away
And travel companions to whom you can tell your dream
