Mental Coach: Sport & Life
We all know that sport is good for you. Not just for your physical health. As a mental coach, I also consider self-confidence , which improves with regular exercise.
Self-efficacy and how these aspects positively impact all areas of life. In this article, I want to share three tips to further enhance the integration of sport into your life. The goal is to improve your overall sense of well-being.
Stop exercising!
Yes, you understood correctly: stop exercising and start actually practicing a sport . What's the difference? Practicing a sport, unlike simply exercising, involves having to define rules, accept them, and respect them. This helps strengthen your character.
Compete!
My advice as a Mental Coach is this: compete. Whatever your sport, whatever your level, sign up for a competition . Signing up for a competition puts you at just the right level of stress. Training for its own sake can easily lead to boredom. Training to give our best during our competition, however, is a great stimulus for our growth.
What is victory?
Change your understanding of the meaning of "victory." It's not about prevailing over others, it's not about improving your best time, it's not even about crossing a finish line. Winning is about experiencing the best possible sensations while practicing your sport in competition.
