Performance coach: not just sports!

A performance coach is able to give you great support in every area of life, not only in the sports field.
Whatever your situation is certain: the sales points of the past are no longer able to offer us the safeness of the past. We must clarify and find within us the solidity necessary to face the uncertain future.
What will happen in the near future?
Many of us are asking ourselves this question, and some are trying to venture some answers. Who should we listen to? Who should we listen to? No one can give certain answers, simply because what we've seen in recent months has never happened before, and therefore no one can have an experience even remotely similar to what we've had.
How can a performance coach help us?
If you know me you know that I am an ultra runner, the extreme races on very long distances are my great passion. And it is precisely from the world of ultrarunning that I draw inspiration for my way of coaching. I identified two essential points in the preparation of an ultramarathon in the mountains, two elements that we should consider in view of the restart of September to be ready for the big way.
Equipment
In an ultra trail, as well as in life, there are many factors that we cannot control. The right attitude towards these factors is this:
better prepare for the aspects under your control and equipped for the aspects that you cannot check.
During an ultramarata, it can rain, it can be cold, it can do dark if the race is long enough. These are climatic factors that, obviously we cannot control, so here we will deal with the adequate technical clothing against the rain and the cold. We will bring with us a front light capable of illuminating the path in front of us during the night.
Be a Performance Coach for yourself and ask yourself these questions…
- What is the equipment I need?
- Are I in possession of how useful it will be?
- Where can I find what I miss?
- Are things already in my possession qualitatively and quantitatively adequate?
- How could I do to improve them?
People around us
In the world of ultra-distance running, there's a saying: run alone, win together. This is because while it's true that the athletic act of running itself is individual, it's equally true that we need the support of others. For example, during a race, to accompany us to the start, to comfort us with a text message during a difficult phase of the competition, or, in the worst cases, to pick us up when we're forced to withdraw. Furthermore, it's a good idea to rely on an expert when it comes to physical preparation, so as to achieve better results and minimize the risk of injury.
Likewise, in everyday life we need someone to support us, someone to cheer us on. Regarding the areas that are most important to us, it's also a good idea to consider relying on an expert, such as a Coach or a Performance Coach, in order to optimize the resources at our disposal and clarify our ideas about where we want to go.
At this point ask yourself…
- Do I have people who cheer for me next to me?
- If I have them: do they know they are important?
- If I don't have them: where can I find them?
- In which areas could I evaluate that I am supported by a coach?
I hope I have given you some inspiration for reflection useful for your future. If you want to better face the unknowns that await us, you can evaluate that you take a coaching path.
